Hitech targets strong GB3 season finale as Palmer makes debut
Round 8 - Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya - Preview
Hitech heads to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend for the final round of the 2026 GB3 Championship, looking to continue its exceptional recent form as British F4 runner-up Theo Palmer makes his GB3 debut alongside Deagen Fairclough and Felix Fu.
The team arrives in Spain following an outstanding run of results, having claimed seven victories from the last eight races, including back-to-back wins for Deagen at Donington Park and Brands Hatch.
Deagen has been the standout performer of the championship’s second half, climbing to second in the Drivers’ standings with seven victories this season. His remarkable run has kept him mathematically in contention for the title heading into the final three races, although he faces a difficult task to overturn championship leader Nikita Bedrin’s 89-point advantage.
With 356 points to Bedrin’s 445, Deagen will be looking to make the most of every opportunity in Barcelona, while Hitech also aims to finish strongly in the Teams’ Championship.
Palmer steps up to GB3
Joining Deagen and Felix this weekend will be Theo Palmer, who steps up from Hitech’s championship-winning British F4 programme for his first appearance in GB3.
Theo enjoyed an impressive 2026 British F4 campaign, finishing runner-up in the Drivers’ Championship with 295.5 points, three victories and multiple podium finishes.
He ended the season in particularly strong form, claiming two wins at the Brands Hatch finale and helping Hitech secure the Teams’ Championship.
His GB3 debut offers an opportunity to experience a more powerful car and continue his development with the team.
Building on Brands Hatch success
At Hitech’s most recent GB3 outing at Brands Hatch, Deagen secured both pole positions and converted them into commanding victories.
His 14.392-second winning margin in Race 1 was the fourth-largest in GB3 history, while a recovery from 12th to fifth in the reverse-grid Race 3 completed another outstanding weekend.
Felix also contributed to the team’s success with a second-place finish in the final race, alongside a third-place podium for Kanato Le.
Final challenge in Spain
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya makes its debut on the GB3 calendar this weekend. The 4.657-kilometre circuit combines long, high-speed corners with more technical sections, placing considerable demands on car balance and tyre performance.
With two qualifying sessions and three races across the weekend, Hitech will be looking to maintain its recent winning form and bring the 2026 campaign to a successful conclusion.
Phil Blow, Hitech GB3 Team Manager:
“We've had a fantastic second half of the season and the results at Donington and Brands Hatch really showed what Deagen and the whole team have been capable of. To take seven wins from the last eight races is an outstanding achievement, and we want to finish the season just as strongly.”
“It's also great to welcome Theo into the GB3 team after such a successful year with us in British F4. He's earned this opportunity and we're looking forward to seeing how he adapts. Yuhao has also shown some really encouraging progress, particularly with his podium at Brands Hatch, so there's plenty for all three drivers to aim for this weekend.”
