Hitech targets Eurocup-3 vice-champion honours at season finale
Round 8 – Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – Preview
Hitech heads to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend for the final round of the 2026 Eurocup-3 Championship, with Keanu Al Azhari looking to secure vice-champion honours and the team aiming to conclude its debut season on a high.
With the Drivers’ Championship title already secured, attention turns to the battle for second place, where four drivers remain in close contention heading into the final two races.
Keanu currently holds second in the standings with 178 points, 11 ahead of René Lammers on 167, with Ean Eyckmans on 166 and Heitor Dall’Agnol on 164.
Just 14 points separate the four contenders, setting up a closely fought conclusion to the season.
Keanu strengthened his position at the penultimate round in Hungary, where second and third-place finishes at the Hungaroring helped him establish a narrow advantage heading into Barcelona.
A strong debut season
Hitech’s first full Eurocup-3 campaign has seen the team establish itself as a regular front-runner, with Keanu claiming victories at the Red Bull Ring, Silverstone and Jerez.
Having started the year by winning the Spanish Winter Championship with Hitech, Keanu now returns to Spain looking to add vice-champion honours to an impressive season.
Hitech also heads into the finale third in the Teams’ Championship with 230 points.
All four drivers aim to end their season on a high
Keanu will race alongside Gino Trappa, Santino Panetta and Stefan Bostandjiev for one final time this season.
Santino arrives following a strong weekend at the Hungaroring, where he secured two Rookie podiums and sixth and eighth-place finishes overall.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya’s combination of high-speed corners and technical sections will provide a demanding final challenge, with qualifying performance and tyre management likely to play important roles.
Bruin Beasley, Hitech Eurocup-3 Team Manager
“We've achieved a lot in our first season in Eurocup-3, and there's still an important weekend ahead of us. Keanu has put together a really strong campaign and he's in a good position to fight for vice-champion honours, but with the points so close, we know nothing is guaranteed.”
“It's been rewarding to see the progress we've made as a team throughout the year, and we've had some great results along the way. We want to finish the season with all four drivers performing well and make sure we get everything we can out of the final two races.”
