Momentum builds as UAE4 heads back to Yas Marina for Round 2

Round 2 - Yas Marina - Preview

After a dramatic and action-packed opening round of the UAE4 Series, the championship returns to Yas Marina Circuit this weekend for Round 2, with drivers and teams eager to build on the lessons and momentum gained just days ago at the opening event.

Round 1 delivered a weekend of intense racing, defined by plenty of overtaking, four-wide battles, multiple Safety Cars and changing race conditions. Across the three races, Hitech and QMMF by Hitech drivers showed confidence and determination in one of the most competitive junior single-seater fields of the season.

Scott Kin Lindblom gained a remarkable 61 positions across the three races, producing a series of strong recovery drives after penalties for a technical infringement forced him to start from the back of the grid. He will be aiming for a more straightforward weekend, with his focus firmly on scoring more points and challenging for the podium.

Theo Palmer showed similar determination, demonstrating impressive pace as he charged through the field to gain 24 places in Race 2. He too will be targeting the front of the grid this weekend.

For the QMMF by Hitech drivers, Bader Al Sulaiti secured the team’s first points of the season with an eighth-place finish in Race 3, while both he and teammate Nasser Al Thani showed strong focus and determination throughout the weekend.

With three days of pre-season testing and a full race weekend already completed at Yas Marina, Round 2 is expected to be even closer. Teams now return with a wealth of data, more finely tuned setups and a clearer understanding of how to extract performance across qualifying and race trim, placing an even greater emphasis on execution.

Dominic Stott, Hitech’s F4 Programmes Team Manager:

“Our UAE4 Series debut got off to a strong start at Yas Marina last weekend, with drivers across both Hitech and QMMF by Hitech making clear progress with each test session and race. Between them, they accumulated significant mileage, and we’ve spent the last week analysing that data to identify where we can make further gains heading into Round 2.”

Dominic continued:

“A week on, confidence is growing and momentum is building, which will only make the margins even tighter. The opening round delivered some fantastic racing, but also highlighted the unpredictability that can come with such a large and competitive field. Our drivers remained consistent and showed real resilience with some strong recovery drives, and I’m confident they can apply those lessons to deliver another positive weekend – while continuing to add valuable points.”

Round 2 promises another weekend of high-intensity action at one of the calendar’s most iconic venues.
