Hitech prepares for decisive Hungaroring weekend

Round 7 - Hungaroring - Preview

Hitech heads to Hungary this weekend for Round 7 of the 2026 Eurocup-3 Championship, with the penultimate round representing a crucial opportunity ahead of the Barcelona season finale.

Fresh from a strong Jerez weekend, where Keanu Al Azhari claimed Sprint Race victory and finished fourth in Race 2, Hitech aims to carry that form into the final two rounds.

Gino Trappa, Santino Panetta and Stefan Bostandjiev will also be looking to deliver valuable points as the championship battles intensify.

The challenge: Hungaroring

The 4.4-kilometre Hungaroring presents a tight, technical challenge, demanding precision, strong traction and consistent tyre management.

With limited overtaking opportunities, qualifying and track position will be key. Turn 1 offers the clearest chance to pass, while the technical middle sector rewards drivers who can maintain momentum.

Al Azhari targets another strong result

Al Azhari arrives at the penultimate round looking to build on a run of competitive performances.

After securing double pole at Silverstone and converting one into victory, he added a Sprint Race win and fourth place at Jerez, demonstrating both outright pace and the ability to fight back when circumstances have not gone his way.

With just two rounds remaining, the Hungaroring offers another opportunity to close the gap to the runner-up spot and build a gap to those behind.

Bruin Beasley, Hitech Eurocup-3 Team Manager:

“Jerez was a really positive weekend for us, especially to see Keanu take the Sprint Race victory and follow it up with fourth in Race 2. The pace was there, and we want to carry that momentum into Hungary”
“The Hungaroring is a technical circuit where qualifying and track position are important, so we need to put ourselves in a strong position from the start. With only two rounds remaining, there’s still plenty to fight for, and we’ll be pushing hard to maximise the points before heading to Barcelona for the season finale.”
