Dual Campaign announced for Jin Nakamura in FIA F3 and GB3

Driver Announcement - GB3

Hitech is pleased to announce that Jin Nakamura, who competes with the team in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, will also race in the GB3 Championship this season as part of a dual campaign of international and regional F3.

The 20-year-old Japanese driver will contest six non-clashing GB3 events alongside the remaining rounds of the FIA F3 calendar, ensuring a busy and competitive schedule to support his continued development.

Jin made a strong start to his F3 season in Melbourne last month, scoring his first points of the year in Sunday’s Feature Race and placing himself inside the top 10 of the Drivers’ Standings at this early stage of the campaign.

A member of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Driver Challenge Program, Jin brings a diverse racing background spanning single-seaters, GT machinery, and endurance competition, having raced in both Japanese and European championships over the past three seasons.

In 2025, he made an impressive transition into European single-seater racing. He competed in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship, where he claimed a race win and an additional podium finish, and in the Formula Regional European Championship, where he secured a podium and scored consistently throughout the season. He also gained endurance racing experience in the Le Mans Cup in the LMP3 category.

In GB3, Jin will line up alongside Deagen Fairclough and Felix Fu when the season gets underway at Silverstone on 23-26 April.

Jin Nakamura:

“I’m very happy to add the GB3 Championship to my 2026 racing programme alongside FIA Formula 3. While FIA F3 remains my priority, the opportunity to maintain racing momentum between those rounds by competing in six GB3 events is really important for my progression. I’m looking forward to a busy season ahead.”

Phil Blow, Hitech’s GB3 Team Manager:

“We’re pleased to welcome Jin to our GB3 Championship line-up for the new season. He has already made a strong start to his FIA Formula 3 campaign, and contesting GB3 will provide him with an excellent platform for development through a dual programme of international and regional competition.”
