Double victory at Thruxton as Hitech secures first wins of 2026

Theo Palmer delivered a breakthrough performance in Race 1, taking his maiden British F4 victory from pole position, before Adam Al Azhari followed it up with his first win of the season in Race 2. The double victory marked a major milestone for Hitech, with the team now securing two wins in two races.

Theo’s victory moved him into second in the Drivers’ Championship standings, while Adam’s success saw him become the 10th different winner in British F4 this season. Chiara Bättig continued her progress with another strong weekend, while Scott Kin Lindblom endured a more challenging round.

Race 1

Theo started the opening race from pole position, with Scott lining up eighth, Adam 13th and Chiara 17th.

Theo initially dropped to second at the start before the race was immediately red-flagged following an opening-lap incident.

The race restarted with Theo making a much stronger getaway to reclaim the lead into the opening corner. Scott moved into seventh, while Adam and Chiara continued to run in the early stages before a second stoppage interrupted proceedings.

A second red flag followed and Theo remained in the lead at the stoppage, with Scott seventh and Chiara 13th, while Adam’s race came to an early end following contact with Sadiq.

When racing resumed, Theo controlled the restart to secure his maiden British F4 victory, completing a composed drive from pole. Scott finished seventh, while Chiara crossed the line 13th.

Race 2

The second race saw Adam start from pole position, with Scott lining up fourth. Theo started 10th, while Chiara took the start from 14th.

Adam responded brilliantly after a difficult opening race, clinging on to retain the lead. Scott also made progress from fourth to move into second, while Theo climbed to eighth and Chiara advanced to 13th.

A Safety Car brought the field back together, with Adam still leading ahead of Scott. Theo continued his recovery drive, moving into sixth, while Chiara progressed to 11th.

Before the Safety Car, Adam had built a 1.5-second advantage at the front. However, the intervention erased his lead and forced him into a defensive battle when racing resumed.

The restart produced a close fight at the front, with Adam and Scott battling for the lead while Scott came under pressure from Harfield. The battle intensified before contact with Proudford-Nalder forced Scott off track and into retirement, bringing out a further Safety Car.

Adam remained composed through the final restart to take victory, securing his first win of the season and becoming the 10th different winner in British F4 this year. Theo completed a strong recovery drive to finish sixth, while Chiara crossed the line 11th.

Race 3

Theo started the final race of the weekend from third, with Adam lining up 10th. Scott started 14th, while Chiara took the start from 13th.

Theo lost ground on the opening lap, dropping to sixth, before a Safety Car was deployed to recover a stranded car.

Racing resumed after 10 minutes of action, with Theo immediately returning to the attack. He attempted a move on Clark around the outside before Clark fought back to reclaim the position.

A second Safety Car period was deployed with nine minutes remaining, bunching the field together once again and setting up a tense finish.

Racing resumed with a four-minute dash to the chequered flag. Theo secured sixth place at the finish, completing a strong weekend highlighted by his breakthrough victory.

Chiara produced a determined drive in the closing stages, making a late move on Adam to take ninth, with Adam finishing 10th. Scott’s challenging weekend continued after he was forced to retire on lap two.

The championship now moves on to the next round at Donington Park on 22-23 August.
