Double points finish for Browning and Beganovic in Spielberg

Round 7 of the F2 Championship came to a positive conclusion today for Hitech TGR, as Luke Browning and Dino Beganovic earned a double points finish at the Red Bull Ring.

Luke finished the Spielberg Feature Race sixth on track but was promoted to fifth place following Dunne’s disqualification. Team-mate Dino took the chequered flag in 10th place, but moved up to ninth following the application of penalties.
Having started from P17 and P21 on the Grid after a disappointing Qualifying, they each improved by 12 places. Luke claims 10 crucial points towards his title hopes, while Dino’s two points edge him back into the Top 10 in the Drivers’ Standings.

Today’s result provided a much-need boost after an otherwise torrid weekend at the Austrian circuit.
Saturday’s Sprint Race saw the Williams Academy driver caught up in a three-car collision at Turn 3 when Megetounif’s car launched over the top of Lindblad and became inverted, bouncing off the top of Luke’s Hitech before coming to rest in an upside-down position in the run-off area. All three drivers walked away unscathed, the Halo once again doing its job and protecting them from what might otherwise have been a very serious incident.
The race restarted but contact with Goethe, also at Turn 3, soon brought Dino’s race to an early conclusion.

From a devastating double DNF in the Sprint to a double points finish in today’s Feature Race, the team now moves to Silverstone for its home event in just one week’s time (4-6 July).
