Triple podium success at prestigious BRDC International Trophy weekend

Round 4 - Silverstone GP - Report

Hitech enjoyed a memorable weekend on Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit, securing three podium finishes across the BRDC International Trophy meeting. The event also featured a standout breakthrough performance from Chiara Battïg, who claimed her first British F4 podium and fastest lap of the season.

With perfect weather throughout, the historic event provided a strong platform for the team’s young drivers to showcase their talent at one of motorsport’s most iconic venues.

Qualifying saw Theo secure second on the grid, leading the team’s charge. Adam followed in fifth, while Chiara and Scott qualified 12th and 21st respectively.

The drivers’ second-fastest laps set the grid for Race 1, with Theo lining up third, Adam seventh, Chiara 12th and Scott 19th.

Race 1

It was a tricky start to the opening race after the pole-sitter bogged down on the grid, forcing Theo into quick evasive action as the field launched away. Despite the disruption, he held firm inside the top three before later losing out to Jeff-Hall.

Theo remained in contention throughout and continued to apply pressure to the cars ahead.

Just after halfway, a Safety Car bunched the field together before a late sprint to the flag.

Adam delivered a strong drive from seventh to fourth on the road, and following post-race penalties was elevated to second, securing Hitech’s first podium of the weekend.

Chiara made steady progress to finish ninth, while Scott produced a strong recovery drive from 19th to complete the top 10.

Race 2

Sunday’s reverse-grid race presented a major opportunity for Chiara, who became the first female driver to start from pole position in British F4 since Abbi Pulling in 2024.

An early incident led to a red flag stoppage, with the original race abandoned and a full 20-minute restart held from the original grid positions.

When racing resumed, Chiara again launched well but slipped back on the run to Turn 1. She quickly regrouped and fought her way back into contention, ultimately securing a strong third-place finish while also setting her first fastest lap in British F4.

Adam recovered from early contact to finish fifth, Theo added more points in ninth, and Scott gained valuable positions in a strong midfield run.

Chiara Battïg:

“First podium in British F4, it feels great. It wasn’t great at the start and I lost those two places, but I’m really happy to come away with the podium and the fastest lap. It’s all a learning path and so good to be here at Silverstone.”

Race 3 – BRDC International Trophy Race

Attention then turned to the weekend’s headline event, the prestigious BRDC International Trophy race.

Theo lined up on the front row in second, with Adam fifth. Chiara started 12th following her earlier podium success, while Scott began from 24th.

Theo made a strong start and immediately settled into the fight at the front, while Adam remained firmly in the lead group. Chiara and Scott both faced difficult opening laps before the race was interrupted by a red flag following a multi-car incident.

When racing resumed, Theo continued to run at the sharp end of the field and held strong in the podium battle, ultimately securing third place in the prestigious International Trophy race.

Adam delivered a consistent drive to finish sixth, while Chiara and Scott completed a challenging final race in 23rd and 26th.

Theo Palmer:

“It was a really interesting race and I was just keeping it consistent and managing my exits, not worrying about what was going on behind me. I’ve made a lot of improvements since Snetterton and I think it shows. I’m happy to take some good points away from the weekend.”
