Silverstone hat-trick caps standout weekend for Hitech
Round 5 - Silverstone - Report
Hitech enjoyed a sensational weekend at Silverstone, securing a hat-trick of GB3 victories at the team’s home event. Deagen Fairclough claimed two wins after taking double pole position, before Jacob Micallef produced a dramatic late-race move to take his maiden GB3 victory in only his third event and become the first Maltese driver to win in single-seaters.
Deagen delivered a standout performance throughout the weekend, converting his first GB3 pole positions into race victories, while Jacob continued his rapid rise with a breakthrough win in the final race. Felix Fu also made further progress across the three races at Silverstone.
Qualifying
Deagen set the tone for the weekend with a stunning qualifying performance, securing double pole position for the opening two races.
He topped both sessions, setting the fastest lap of the weekend in Q2 with a 1m49.714s effort to secure his maiden GB3 pole positions.
Jacob continued his impressive progress in only his third GB3 event, qualifying ninth for Race 1 and 10th for Race 2.
Reflecting on his maiden GB3 poles, Deagen said:
“It’s very special and I’m so pleased. I can’t thank the team enough; we’ve been working so hard and it’s finally coming together.”
Race 1
Starting from pole position, Deagen made a brilliant getaway and immediately opened a gap at the front before a Safety Car period brought the field back together.
At the restart, Molnar challenged for the lead and briefly moved ahead at Brooklands, but Deagen responded immediately with a superb move under braking at Vale to reclaim first place.
From there, he soaked up huge pressure from Molnar and Campbell-Pilling, showing impressive pace and consistency while setting the fastest first and middle sectors of the race.
The result secured Deagen’s third GB3 career victory, his second win of the 2026 campaign and his first GB3 win at his home circuit
Jacob converted ninth on the grid into another top-10 finish, while Felix recovered from 20th to finish 17th.
Race 2
On Sunday, Deagen converted his second pole position of the weekend into a commanding lights-to-flag victory in Race 2.
After another excellent start, he controlled the race from the front but faced constant pressure from Campbell-Pilling and Fluxa. Despite the challenge, Deagen remained composed to secure his fourth GB3 career victory.
The result marked his 10th podium finish in the championship.
Reflecting on his second victory of the weekend, Deagen said:
“It was definitely a tough one. The two Xcels hunted me down and didn't make it easy. I'm just so, so pleased. This weekend has been phenomenal and a huge thanks to all my supporters and everyone at Hitech. It's nice to have a double win and finally get my first pole in GB3, especially at my home circuit. A lot of happy memories have come at this track and I've just added another one.”
Jacob held 10th place throughout the race, while Felix finished 20th.
Race 3
The final race saw Jacob start from third place, with Deagen lining up 12th and Felix 20th due to the reverse grid.
Jacob immediately found himself in the fight at the front, battling for victory throughout the race as he continued his impressive progress in only his third GB3 event.
The Maltese driver saved his best move for the closing stages, making a stunning move around the outside of Gonzalez at the penultimate corner to take the lead and secure his maiden GB3 victory in dramatic fashion.
The result completed a remarkable hat-trick of wins for Hitech at Silverstone, following Deagen’s two victories earlier in the weekend.
Deagen produced another strong recovery drive from 12th on the grid, fighting through the field to finish 10th, while Felix continued to gain valuable experience and secured 19th place after a late-race move on Pribyl.

“I’m speechless, honestly. I had no expectations other than I was starting in a good position and could fight for a result. I knew the race was long and I just took the opportunities that came my way. With the overtaking moves, I just felt I had nothing to lose and I had to go for it, and the confidence paid off. My thanks to everyone who has supported me since I stepped up to the series just three rounds ago. It’s been really great.”

“It has been a fantastic weekend for everyone at Hitech. Deagen has been outstanding from the first qualifying session onwards, taking his maiden GB3 poles before converting them into two brilliant victories. He had to work extremely hard for both wins and fully deserved the results.”

“It is also fantastic to see Jacob take his first GB3 victory. To achieve that in only his third event shows how quickly he has progressed and the level of performance he is capable of delivering.”

Deagen Fairclough now moves up to P6 in the Drivers’ standings and Hitech is closing in on third position in the Teams’ standings.
