Ready to tackle Monza as F2 season enters final phase
Round 11 - Monza - Preview
As the FIA Formula 2 season enters its final stretch, Hitech heads to the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza for Round 11 of 14, aiming to build on a strong campaign and finish the season on a high.
The revered Italian venue, known as the Temple of Speed, is a driver and fan favourite – renowned for delivering high-speed drama and its fair share of iconic moments. With its long straights, and fabled corners like the Rettifilo chicane, Ascari, and Parabolica, Monza provides a stern test of driver skill and team strategy.
Luke Browning arrives in Monza sitting fourth in the Drivers’ Championship, having impressed throughout his Rookie Formula 2 season, and securing seven podiums in the 10 rounds to date.
Dino Beganovic will be especially motivated heading into Monza, as it is a home round for the Ferrari Driver Academy member. He will be looking to shine in front of the Tifosi, and boost his podium and points tally at the same time.
With just four rounds remaining in the season, the stakes are high, and both drivers and the team will be looking to continue the current upward trajectory in both Championships.
From a technical standpoint, Monza presents one of the most unique challenges on the F2 calendar. The 5.8 km circuit demands an ultra-low downforce setup to afford straight-line speed, whilst ensuring maximum grip in the corners and confidence under braking.
Tyre degradation tends to be low at this track, but the combination of long straights, heavy braking, and aggressive use of the kerbs can strain brake temperatures and suspension, so ride height and reliability are just as important as outright pace.
Clive Hatton, Hitech’s F2 Team Manager:
“We’re looking forward to being back on track after the long summer break and ready to take on the unique challenge that Monza represents. It’s a fast, unforgiving circuit, but one that offers good opportunities to progress through the field. As we enter this final phase of the season, it’s crucial that we maximise every session – from qualifying through to the races – and hopefully add a few more podiums to our tally along the way.”
