Hitech TGR has signed Jesse Carrasquedo to its FIA Formula 3 line-up for the next two rounds of the Championship in Barcelona and Spielberg. The Mexican driver will replace Joshua Dufek, who left the team following the last event in Monaco.

The 18-year-old, born in Léon, Guanajuato, will make his F3 debut in the championship this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which hosts the fifth event of the ten-round calendar.

Jesse took his first steps in single-seater racing in 2022 when he competed in a number of races in F4 Spain. He went on to complete a full campaign in the series the following season. Since then, he has gained valuable experience in other international championships such as Formula Regional European, Formula Regional Middle East, and Eurocup-3.

He will line up alongside Hitech’s other F3 drivers, Martinius Stenshorne and Gerrard Xie, at the wheel of car number 15.

Paul Bellringer, Hitech's F3 Team Manager:

“We are pleased to welcome Jesse to the team at this critical point of the season, with Barcelona marking the midpoint of the calendar.”
“He brings plenty of single-seater experience and I am sure he will make the most of this opportunity to demonstrate that he is ready to step up to the next level.”

He continued:

“It is disappointing for Joshua and Hitech that we will not be able to continue together for the remainder of the season. We wish him well for the future.”

As he prepared to make his F3 debut, Jesse Carrasquedo said:

“I’m super excited to take the step up to FIA Formula 3 and my thanks to Hitech for this opportunity. I’m ready to learn as much as possible and perform the best I can.”

Round 5 gets underway on Friday 30 May when Jesse will get his first experience of the F3 car in the opening Practice session.
