British F4 heads overseas for Zandvoort challenge

Round 5 - Zandvoort - Preview

Hitech travels to Circuit Zandvoort this weekend for Round 5 of the 2026 Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, as the series embarks on its only overseas event of the campaign.

The team arrives in the Netherlands on the back of a successful Silverstone weekend, where Hitech secured three podium finishes across the prestigious BRDC International Trophy meeting. Theo Palmer and Adam Al Azhari both stood on the podium, while Chiara Bättig celebrated her maiden British F4 podium and fastest lap of the season.

Those results have helped Hitech move into the lead of the Teams’ Championship, while Theo, Scott and Adam all sit inside the top six in the Drivers’ Championship standings as the battle for honours continues to intensify.

Since the British F4 field last competed at Silverstone, Chiara has added another landmark achievement to her season with a sensational F1 Academy debut at the British Grand Prix. The Swiss driver topped Free Practice before becoming the first Wild Card entrant in championship history to claim pole position, converting that achievement into a superb second-place finish in the Feature Race.

The result marked a landmark weekend for Chiara and further underlined the strength of Hitech’s young driver programme as the team heads into the second half of the British F4 season.

The Dutch venue presents a fresh challenge for the championship, with the 2.646-mile circuit combining fast, flowing corners with technical braking zones and dramatic elevation changes. Famous for its banked final corner, Zandvoort demands precision, commitment and confidence, leaving little margin for error across the weekend.

As the home of the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix, the event also provides the drivers with the opportunity to compete on an iconic Formula 1-standard circuit, adding another valuable experience to their development as they continue their progression through the single-seater pathway.

With the circuit hosting British F4’s only overseas round of the season, the event provides another opportunity for the drivers to showcase their abilities on an international stage.

Scott Kin Lindblom

Scott continues to demonstrate strong consistency throughout the season, regularly fighting inside the points and showcasing his ability to recover through the field. He arrives at Zandvoort looking to convert that pace into another strong championship result.

Theo Palmer

Theo heads to the Netherlands after a standout Silverstone weekend, where he secured a podium finish in the prestigious BRDC International Trophy race. With strong qualifying pace and increasing confidence, he will be aiming to challenge at the front once again.

Adam Al Azhari

Adam has established himself among the championship’s leading contenders, combining impressive single-lap pace with consistent race performances. Following another podium at Silverstone, he will be looking to continue that momentum at Zandvoort.

Chiara Bättig

Chiara arrives at Zandvoort following the strongest run of form of her season. After securing her maiden British F4 podium and fastest lap at Silverstone, she delivered a historic F1 Academy debut at the British Grand Prix, becoming the championship’s first Wild Card pole-sitter before claiming a Feature Race podium.

She will now look to build on that momentum as British F4 takes on one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar.

Dominic Stott, Hitech British F4 Team Manager:

“The British F4 round at Silverstone was a very positive weekend for the team, with three podiums across the BRDC International Trophy meeting. Since then, Chiara delivered an incredible performance on the Formula 1 support package in F1 Academy, which was another fantastic achievement for everyone involved.”
“We now have another big challenge ahead of us at Zandvoort. It’s a very different circuit to those we have visited so far this season. The track layout, banking and limited margin for error make it a demanding venue, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity for the drivers to showcase their ability. We’re looking forward to the weekend and continuing the progress we’ve made.”
