Hitech welcomes Michael Shin for 2026 Formula 3 campaign
2026 Driver Line-Up - FIA Formula 3

Hitech TGR is pleased to announce that Michael Shin will join its FIA Formula 3 campaign for 2026, as part of an exciting new driver line-up.

The 21-year-old made his FIA Formula 3 debut in 2023, contesting three rounds and making history as the first driver from South Korea to compete in the third tier of the FIA’s official single-seater ladder.

Michael’s racing journey began in 2022, when he competed in the F4 UAE Championship and the British F4 Championship, securing his first race win at Brands Hatch.
In 2023, Michael raced in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship, picking up a podium finish. He then joined Hitech for the GB3 Championship that year, scoring regular points before stepping up to FIA Formula 3 mid-season with another team.

The following year, Michael raced in Eurocup-3, earning four podiums and finishing 7th in the championship. He also competed in the Formula Regional Oceania championship, where he took a win and four additional podiums to end the season 4th overall. In addition, he completed a part-time campaign in Euroformula Open, claiming two victories to finish 6th in the drivers’ championship.
For 2025, Michael continued his development in Euroformula Open, gaining further experience ahead of his full-time step up to FIA Formula 3 with Hitech.
Michael’s signing reflects Hitech’s ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging talent and supporting drivers as they progress through the junior single-seater ranks.
Michael Shin:
“I am delighted to be returning home to Hitech for my full FIA F3 debut. Having been away from the team these past two years developing, this feels like a perfect reunion. I am looking forward to getting to work in the post-season tests and building towards a strong debut in Melbourne.”
Paul Bellringer, Hitech’s FIA Formula 3 Team Manager:
“We’re very pleased to welcome Michael to Hitech for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season. He’s shown real determination and strong results over the past few years, including during his previous GB3 experience with us, and his performances in Euroformula Open and briefly in FIA F3 have demonstrated his ability to adapt quickly and compete at a high level. We’re looking forward to his continued development as he takes on a full campaign in FIA F3.”
