2026 Driver Line-Up - FIA Formula 3

Hitech TGR is delighted to announce that Jin Nakamura will join its FIA Formula 3 campaign for the 2026 season.

The 19-year-old from Japan will be part of an all-new line-up at Hitech, marking a significant milestone in his international racing career. Part of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Driver Challenge Program, Jin arrives in F3 with a diverse background across single-seaters, GT machinery, and endurance racing – having competed in both Japanese and European championships over the past three seasons.

Jin began his formula racing career in the F4 Japanese Championship in 2022 with TGR-DC Racing School, claiming a win and another podium in his debut season. He returned for a second year in 2023 and secured three victories and six further podiums, finishing runner-up in the championship.
In 2024, Jin broadened his experience across multiple series, including a competitive rookie campaign in Super Formula Lights, where he finished 4th overall, as well as appearances in Super GT (GT300) and Super Taikyu, where he claimed two wins in the ST-2 class. He also contested the prestigious Macau Grand Prix.

2025 saw Jin make a strong step into European racing. He competed in both the Formula Regional Middle East Championship, claiming a win and another podium, and the Formula Regional European Championship, where he secured a podium and has consistently scored points, and currently sits in top ten contention in the standings with two rounds remaining. He also gained endurance racing experience in the Le Mans Cup in the LMP3 category.
Jin’s elevation to FIA Formula 3 with Hitech reflects his steady progression across disciplines and continents, and aligns with the team’s mission to support emerging international talent on the road to Formula 1.
Jin Nakamura:

I am grateful to the team for their trust, and to Toyota Gazoo Racing, who have supported me throughout my racing journey. I have learned so much competing in Japan and Europe, and I feel well prepared to take on this next challenge. I can’t wait to get started in testing and prepare for a strong debut next year.”
Paul Bellringer, Hitech’s FIA Formula 3 Team Manager:
“We’re excited to welcome Jin to the team for 2026. He has established himself as a very versatile driver, adapting well to different categories of racing, and I’m sure that will continue as he steps up to FIA Formula 3. His performances in FRECA and FRMEC have shown strong potential, with consistent podiums and points finishes underlining his clear development. We look forward to working closely with him and helping him maximise his potential as he takes this next step in his career.”
