Red Bull juniors Hadjar, Crawford, Montoya and Souta join Hitech in FIA Formula 2, FIA Formula 3 and GB3

Hitech Grand Prix will line-up with four Red Bull Juniors in 2023, announcing that they have signed Hadjar, Crawford, Montoya and Souta for their upcoming campaigns in FIA Formula 2, FIA Formula 3 and the GB3 Championship.

Frenchman Isack Hadjar will spend a second season with Hitech, making the step up to F2 off the back of a successful campaign in F3 which saw him take three victories and secure fourth in the standings. Hadjar also competed in the 2022 Formula Regional Asia Championship with the team, impressing with third place overall. He added, “I’m really excited to be part of the Red Bull Junior team and continue this journey with Hitech for another year. Hopefully we can win some more races and have a strong season together.”

Joining Hadjar, American driver Jak Crawford will graduate to F2 following two strong seasons in F3, one of those being with Hitech in 2021. He took part in post-season F2 testing at Yas Marina Circuit last November gaining valuable mileage in the Hitech machinery. Crawford exclaimed that he is looking forward to the challenge ahead, “I am delighted to be back with Hitech for my first season of Formula 2. It will be a tough season with a strong grid but I am looking forward to what lies ahead.”

In F3, Hitech have confirmed that Sebastián Montoya will join them in a full campaign for 2023. The Colombian-American impressed in last November’s post-season test at Jerez with the British outfit. He scored points in his only two FIA F3 races in 2022. Montoya is currently competing in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship over the next two months with Hitech as he prepares for the F3 season. He commented, “We will all work together to have a great year and fight at the front consistently. I just want to say thank you to Red Bull, Hitech, my family, plus everyone else involved. Let’s bring on the season and give it everything.”

Hitech finalise their Red Bull line-up with Souta Arao in GB3 for 2023. The Japanese driver made his F4 debut in the 2022 French F4 Championship, scoring two wins on his way to third in the series. He now makes the switch to GB3 with the team, who claimed championship victory and took Luke Browning to the driver’s title last season. Delighted to be joining Hitech, Arao exclaimed, “My participation would not be possible without the support of Honda/Redbull, and I look forward to working hard with the team from the first GB3 pre-season tests.”

Oliver Oakes, Hitech’s Team Principal, added:

“We are proud to continue our relationship with Red Bull for another season. It will see us bring two exciting talents, Jak and Isack, to the FIA F2 grid, who have proven themselves with strong results in F3. We are delighted to see Montoya step up to FIA F3 after testing with us last November in Jerez, alongside French F4 race-winner Arao who has had some promising results as he joins the GB3 grid. It’s an exciting pool of drivers and we look forward to fighting for victories on track.”
