Since carving his craft in the grass-roots of motorsport, Ben Hingeley has risen to be one of motorsport’s most talented young drivers, earning a string of glittering results throughout the formative steps of his career.
Making his karting debut in 2009, Ben hit the ground running by collecting a series of club titles before being crowned Welsh Minimax Champion in 2011. The Welsh racing ace further went on to take the 2013 British Junior Rotax Open Karting title and Super One Junior Rotax vicechampionship. His impressive on-track record saw him accoladed as one of Britain’s hottest young talents, inducted as one of the prestigious BRDC Rising Star members.
Graduating to cars in 2015, Ben showcased his supreme talent to be crowned 2015 Formula Jedi Champion in only his first time behind the wheel of a single-seater. In a sensational debut campaign, Ben’s supreme pace and ability powered him to 8 wins, 3 podium finishes and 3 lap records. Moving to take the wheel of F3 machinery for BRDC British F3 in 2016, in which the talented young racer claimed 2 podiums and one pole position.
Last year, Ben returned to the BRDC British F3 field, in a hard-fought campaign of sheer tenacity and natural racing ability, the Welshman earned 4 victories, 7 podiums and a pole position to boot. Sealing the season in 3rd place in the championship. Tallying more valuable on-track experience to his résumé, Ben took to the track across Europe for the first time in the Euroformula Open Championship, putting him in great stead for his FIA F3 challenge. His impressive form saw Ben earning the accolade of 2017 Young Welsh Driver of the Year.
With a catalogue of results and fine-tuned experience behind him, Ben joins Hitech GP’s dynamic squad, ready to tackle the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2018.
