2017 Euroformula Open Champion, Harrison Scott, will contest the final round of the FIA F3 Asian Championship with Dragon Hitech GP in Sepang this weekend, replacing points leader Jake Hughes due to a clash with his GP3 commitments.
As Hughes heads to Abu Dhabi, Scott will fill the seat of the Tatuus F3 car in the final round of the FIA F3 Asian Championship at Sepang International Circuit. Following a successful stint in the Mazda Road to Indy Program this year, the 22-year-old will join Dragon Hitech GP in hopes of capitalising on their performance this season, forming a three-car attack alongside team mates Charles Leong and Raoul Hyman.
Silverstone outfit Hitech GP claimed title honours in the inaugural FIA F3 Asian Championship this year with one remaining round on the calendar after securing 11 wins and 27 podiums, in a bid to top this in Sepang. Dragon Hitech GP driver Jake Hughes currently leads in the standings, 33 points ahead of team mate Raoul Hyman.
I’m very excited to be returning with Hitech GP and I’m grateful for the opportunity they have given me to race with them over in Sepang for the FIA F3 Asia series. I’d also like to thank my partners for their continued support. It’s going to be a good challenge for myself having not been to this circuit or driven the new Tatuus F3 car, but I am aiming to bring back more silverware for the team to carry on their success so far in the series.”
The Sepang round gets underway on the 23 – 25 November and will be streamed live on the official website (www.f3asia.com) and Facebook page @F3AsianChampionship.
